In order to find clarity in decision-making, we need to first trust the authority making the decision. Clarity comes easily when you are connected to yourself but becomes near impossible when you can’t trust that you know yourself enough to make the right decision. When you’re not connected to yourself, or owning who you really are, it’s tough to know what you like, what you dislike, or what you’re truly interested in.
Poor decision-making rarely has to do with a lack of intelligence or information. Instead, we it’s often due to the ‘mental baggage’ we bring to the table when considering our options. Mental baggage may include:
- Analysis paralysis: Spending too much time analyzing outcomes, leading to decision paralysis, often fueled by fear of making mistakes.
- Overconfidence: Overestimating decision-making abilities, with studies showing no correlation between intelligence and critical thinking.
- Information overload: Having more information than can be effectively processed, leading to poor decision-making and the illusion of knowledge.
- Lack of emotional/physical resources: Being too tired or stressed to think clearly, resulting in decisions based on instinct or the path of least resistance.
- "What the hell" effect: Making one small bad decision and continuing down that path, leading to a cascade of increasingly poor decisions.
The goal of this workshop is to become so connected to your authentic self that it becomes easier to set goals around what you truly desire. We will develop that internal trust muscle to find clarity in where you want to go and what guard rails we can define around that to help narrow down the options.
This involves discovery and definition around the following:
- Intrinsic Energy & Nature
- Intrinsic Talents and Gifts
- Intrinsic Skillset
- Core Values
- Core Interests
- Core Motivators
As we navigate each one, we will dive deep into self-discovery to identify your authentic code.
@Mariah Spacher — would be great to templatize what a lessons table needs to include and look like (each module should probably have time and maybe level) - Done!
